The right to dignity is guaranteed. An Act shall provide the manner in which it shall be upheld.

Interpretation
This article guarantees the right to honor as an autonomous fundamental right. Honor (honra) is distinguished from good name (buen nombre) in Article 15: honor refers to internal self-worth, while good name refers to external reputation. This distinction reflects civil law tradition absent from common law systems where 'defamation' covers both concepts.
